At first I was wondering if this scene was really necessary, but I wound up really liking it, especially Mala's line about the sword. The symbols on the tapestry are Celtic. The represent mind expansion and female power, so I think they're fitting for a memorial to they're mom.

I think the decorations of the location really set a tone for the place and give it it's own character. When a story jumps around a lot, location wise, I think it can be hard to make it clear where the story is but I think you always give the locations their own character which makes them easy to place.
