Oh my Egyptian Gods I've actually submitted something! Anyway, here's my entry to the current contest, based on DC's Aten, Ma'at.
I couldn't find anything on Aten's backstory, so I made one up!
Long ago in Ancient Egypt, there was a young man named Khepri. One day, Khepri was unceremoniously killed by Esod, The Stygian Marvel (Anybody remember him? No? Yeah I thought so...). When an Ancient Egyptian dies, their souls are weighed by Anubis, the god of death. Souls heavier than a feather (It's a heavy feather of truth) are devoured by Ammit, souls lighter than the feather ascend into the afterlife. Khepri's soul, being as middle of the road as they come, perfectly balanced out the scale. Not being able to send him either place, Anubis sent Khepri's soul back to his body and renamed him after the feather, Ma'at, hoping that one day he'll do something to unbalance the scales. Ma'at now walks the Earth as an immortal mummy.
Ma'at's nervous, cowardly (He's terrified of the guy who killed him), but is aware of it and can make a self-deprecating joke about it. He'll face his fears and save the day if he really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really is needed. Friends with Safari, though he thinks she's a but crazy. Along with immortality, his bandages have healing properties. More often than not he uses them to reattach his limbs.
This is the first time I've drawn a really exaggerated proportioned character, and I'm really happy with the way he turned out. The army pants don't make sense, but I like the look. Instead of dog tags he has a cartouche bearing his name.
Safari's not using a euphemism, Ma'at's really trapped in there.

P.S. With him being a mummy, Plantae being a swamp monster, and Safari being a werewolf that one time, Team Safari has there own little monster mash going on

I like how you put new characters with the existing characters immediately. 
It gives you a sense of their personalities straight away...which is helpful should you choose to use them. 
It's like listening to someone tell you about a movie. They may tell you every single moment but you don't really get a sense of what it's like until you actually see it. That's what these intro sheets do. They show you the design and then show you how it works all in one.
